Okay, everyone stop what you're doing right now and go read All That They Had Not Lost by mrsquizzical . It's an absolutely lovely trio fic, and if you're even remotely interested in trio fics (or if you've ever wondered why people ship trio) then you should read it. It's beautiful and heartbreaking and very, very moving, and I was glued to my computer screen until I finished. In fact, two chapters from the end, my internet connection broke and I was so wound up that I started pacing my room until I finally thought to try the downstairs computer, and thank fucking goodness, it worked.

And it's slightly embarrassing to be recommending a story that so many people have already read and loved (late to the game, as bloody usual), but just in case...

I have another fic rec today, this time for a gen fic. It's by msmoocow and it's called Dreaming Through the Twilight. It's about Dumbledore's sister Ariana, and it's so beautiful and well-written. Seriously, go read it. It might even make you cry.

Also, I found the story on hp_misfitfics, which is a new gen fic community. There are a lot of really good stories there already, so you might want to browse around if you're not already a member.
